The Economic Policy Management (EPM) Programme became operational in 2008 following the signing of the Grant Agreement between the University of Zambia and the African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF) and the World Bank Institute. We are currently implementing phase 1 of the project covering the period 2008 to 2012. The overall goal of the EPM programme is to improve the efficiency of the public sector in the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) countries through the enhancement of capacity for economic policy analysis and management. At the end of the current phase the project is expected to train 120 middle-level officers in Economic Policy Management from SADC countries and build capacity for the programme through networking with other EPM programmes in Africa and abroad. The EPM Programme is under the Department of Economics in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences. We are currently housed in the School of Mines Building on the first Floor. We have a Computer Laboratory with internet connectivity, a Lecture Theater and Students Lounge.
